Taking action for our community.

Our mission is to reach out to more athletes and fitness enthusiasts with our own developed specialised environment, offering an extended range of services that extend beyond the traditional realms of coaching. We have introduced countless first-timers to the sport whilst assisting many to achieve personal bests, podium finishes and world championship successes, irrespective of their experience and age. We work with athletes from all over New Zealand and Australia, as well as other parts of the world.

But, more importantly, we deliver our coaching services with a purpose. As athletes, we have a unique platform to advocate for the adoption of environmentally friendly and healthy lifestyle practices.

Athletes for Nature is a campaign that uses physical activity as a means to help achieve some of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Physical activity has multiple health, social and economic benefits that can make a significant contribution to community well-being and quality of life. Regular physical activity is proven to help prevent and treat non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, help prevent hypertension, overweight and obesity, and can improve mental health too.

As coaches, our commitment is to provide a value-add service to the best of our ability and adhere to Sport New Zealand’s Coaches’ Code of Ethics, which includes:

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every individual athlete as a human being

  • Maintain high standards of integrity

  • Be a positive role model for your sport and athletes and act in a way that projects a positive image of coaching

  • Professional responsibilities

  • Commit to providing a quality service to your athletes

  • Provide a safe environment for training and competition

  • Protect your athletes from any form of personal abuse

First established in early 2011 as a social-media platform for information and motivation, and later registered as a New Zealand company on 6 July 2011, Fitness Locker evolved as a provider of coaching services and inspiration to athletes, and health and fitness enthusiasts across New Zealand and Australia. It grew to include coaches from other centres around New Zealand, introducing a vast number of newcomers to the sport of triathlon whilst achieving numerous successes including podium finishes internationally.

In August 2022, Fitness Locker rebranded to Kaitiaki Endurance Sports to better represent our current values and continued love for working with aspiring athletes. Kaitiaki Endurance Sports is Trade Mark registered with the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand - 27 June 2022. Athletes for Nature is Trade Mark registered with the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand - 9 January 2023.
